Assistant General Manager – Full-Time

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hotel operations, including food and beverage management, with a focus on guest satisfaction, team leadership, and operational efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader to contribute to the revitalization of an upscale hotel and restaurant, ensuring a high standard of service and fostering a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Operations: Support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day hotel operations, guiding department heads, and ensuring smooth and efficient hotel functioning.
  • Guest Relations: Handle guest complaints, concerns, and feedback promptly, ensuring a high standard of service and satisfaction across all areas of the hotel.
  • Food & Beverage Management: Play a key role in reopening and managing the hotel’s food and beverage operations, including the restaurant, café, and pool bar.
  • Quality Control & Safety: Conduct regular property inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance. Ensure all operational standards are met.
  • Revenue Generation & Sales: Collaborate with the leadership team to support sales efforts, meet revenue goals, and engage with clients during evening events or sales calls.
  • Team Development: Foster a positive work environment and culture of open communication. Assist in hiring, training, and developing both managerial and hourly staff.
  • Operational Strategy: Assist in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures, as well as inventory management and financial reporting.
  • Manager On Duty (MOD): Take on MOD duties, ensuring visibility during peak hours, greeting guests, and offering assistance when needed.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in hotel operations or food and beverage management.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle stress, and meet objectives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Mews PMS system is a plus.
  • Experience with new hotel openings is a plus.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
