Automotive Service Advisor
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will initiate automotive services and repairs by diagnosing performance problems and service requests, developing estimates, writing repair orders, and maintaining customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise customers on necessary services for routine maintenance.
- Identify mechanical problems by conducting visual inspections or road tests.
- Conduct automobile inspections, check vehicle maintenance records, and examine service schedules.
- Discuss inspection results with customers and recommend corrective procedures.
- Prepare work orders for needed repairs, including time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates, service procedures, and expected vehicle return times.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns with professionalism and tact.
- Verify warranty and service contract coverage and explain charges to customers.
- Maintain automotive records by documenting problems and corrective actions.
- Stay updated with automotive knowledge through educational opportunities and manufacturer publications.
Qualifications:
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide accurate recommendations.
- Strong communication and active listening skills.
- Working knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment.
- Computer literate and able to work with service software.
- Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position
- Monday to Friday, with weekends as needed
