Job Skills Trainer – Disability Services

Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Skills Trainer II to work with individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities. This position is responsible for delivering training, motivating participants, and helping them achieve their maximum potential through personalized instruction and support. The ideal candidate will possess strong classroom management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, and the ability to create and facilitate engaging and inclusive training programs for a diverse group of learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training Development: Design, deliver, and monitor effective training programs to help participants improve job-related skills and performance.
- Instructional Delivery: Use a variety of teaching methods such as role-playing, simulations, and team exercises to engage participants.
- Program Coordination: Collaborate with management to create and enhance on-the-job training activities.
- Content Creation: Work with the Learning and Development Supervisor to secure instructional materials and ensure content accuracy.
- Performance Evaluation: Monitor and assess participant performance post-training and provide feedback to improve skill development.
- Soft Skills Training: Lead training sessions on soft skills needed for job acquisition and retention.
- Participant Support: Provide one-on-one coaching, conduct readiness workshops, and ensure ongoing support for job seekers.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed case records, ensuring all participant information is entered timely and confidentially.
- Compliance: Adhere to agency policies, training standards, and external requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Experience in training, employee development, or related fields is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with classroom management and adult learning principles is highly desirable.
- Language Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
- Personal Traits: Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a passion for making a positive community impact.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
