Operations and Fleet Manager – Full-Time Position

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations and Fleet Manager to oversee the efficient management of our fleet of medium-duty trucks. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of truck maintenance, fleet management, and logistics optimization. This role is perfect for someone looking to drive operational excellence, enhance fleet performance, and manage a team of drivers across multiple states while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance and performance of trucks, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory standards. Implement and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Driver Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of drivers, ensuring they adhere to company policies and safety standards. Provide performance feedback and coaching.
  • Routing & Logistics: Optimize and manage daily routes for efficient delivery and pickup operations. Adapt routes in real-time to accommodate customer needs and operational changes.
  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels and warehousing operations, ensuring timely availability of supplies and equipment while minimizing waste.
  • Software Integration: Collaborate with IT and management to integrate and expand software solutions that improve fleet operations, logistics, and overall efficiency.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor KPIs related to fleet performance, driver productivity, and customer satisfaction. Analyze performance data and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work with customer service and marketing teams to support growth and enhance customer experiences. Align operational goals with company objectives.
  • Team Development: Foster a leadership-driven culture, encouraging continuous improvement and providing professional development opportunities.
  • Quality Control: Maintain and implement quality control standards to ensure high service delivery levels and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in operations and fleet management, particularly within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Proven expertise in medium-duty truck maintenance and operations.
  • Strong skills in managing drivers, optimizing logistics, and developing performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including Microsoft Suite and Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and support team development.
